About Me

Hi my name is Salla Akselin. I’m born and raised in Finland, the country of thousands lakes and I’m proud to say that I grew up in the middle of those lakes, in a small town called Rautalampi. In the Finnish forests and lakesides I have formed a deep connection with nature and water and caring for our environment is really close to my heart. Since I was a little girl, I’ve been also interested in arts and crafts and I have over 14 years of experience as a professional tattoo artist. Photography stepped in a bit later when I picked up my first camera in 2016 and ever since it has been a great passion of mine to freeze the moment and create beautiful art with a camera. As a person who photographs a lot in the nature, especially while having wildlife encounters, the most important thing is to respect the animals and environment. That is why I’m eager to read and learn about the behaviour of different species and understand how different ecosystems work. 

 

Now I live in Helsinki with my husband and cat and  I love travelling, especially to experience the breathtaking nature around the world. I would describe myself an easygoing person packed with positive energy and full of new ideas. I'm always ready for a new adventure.
